The Fling Chelmsford is a fantastic cultural event of assorted amusements for those aged 18 and over only. Held in Central Park, Chelmsford, Essex each year it features professional artistes as well as local talent from the town and all over the county of Essex.
Taking place in a tented village environment, known as ‘The Fling-dom', with several stages, The Fling Chelmsford features music, poetry, comedy, silent disco, cabaret, participation activities and much more, creating a playful, fun atmosphere. As you wander round, you never know what weird and wonderful entertainment you might find to seduce, surprise and explore your senses.
The Fling Chelmsford 2011 will take place on Saturday 2nd July between the hours of 4.00pm & 11.00pm. Since its inception in 2008, it has been a sell out every year and there will be a limited number of tickets available. Tickets for this years event will go on sale on 18 April 2011 at an early-bird rate of £15.
Featuring in The Fling 2011 will be the weird, wonderful and bizarre. You can choose to be a part of the awe inspiring madness or just relax, sit back and enjoy story-tellers, stand-up comedians, cabaret artists, and burlesque acts as live music fills the air. There is also talk of the charity casino and the ever popular ‘sandy beach' making a return this year as well.

The Fling - How to Get There
The Fling Festival is held in Central Park, Chelmsford. It can be found opposite the Ford County Ground, home of Essex Cricket Club, on the other side of the River Can, next to the Parkway A138 through the middle of Chelmsford.
If arriving by bus or train, then both stations are less a 5-10 minute walk away.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no parking on site and attendees will not be able to bring their cars into Central Park.

The Fling Chelmsford 2009 wins local award
Back in April 2009, in only its second year in existence, The Fling Chelmsford won the coveted award for best event in the Borough of Chelmsford. Voted for by the readers of Panic Magazine, members of the Councils Cultural Events team were on hand to pick up their award. In their acceptance speech they thanked all those who made the event into Chelmsford's cultural highlight of the year and vowed that it would get better and better in the years to come.
