The Boswells School ChelmsfordThe Boswells School in Springfield, Chelmsford is a Specialist Performing Arts College offering an education for pupils between the ages of 11 and 18. In the most recent Ofsted report in 2010, there were 1,481 pupils on its register and the school was classed at ‘Good' with an ‘Outstanding' capacity to improve.

Being a Specialist Performing Arts College, The Boswells School in Chelmsford boasts first class facilities for students in Drama, Dance (Ballet, Tap, Musical Theatre, Latin, Street, Cheerleading & Contemporary), as well as Music. In addition to normal weekly lessons, there are also several extra curricular workshops and clubs, along with the chance to perform at local events, go on residential courses, or take part in international tours.

In addition to specialising in the Performing Arts, The Boswells School also covers a number of subjects under the guidance of the national curriculum. Some of the various departments at the school include ICT, Languages (French, Spanish, German), Business Studies, ABL, Social Science, & Government/ Politics.

On its website, Headteacher, Mr David Crowe, states that The Boswells School in Chelmsford is "vibrant, caring and successful" and that students attain results at all stages ‘that are significantly above the county and national averages.'
He goes on to say that the school aims to develop each student to their full potential and that "that every child has one school life and that together we must make it count".

The school aim is to assist all students in realising their potential to become creative thinkers and independent learners. This will in turn lead to every child leaving The Boswells School having indentified a talent or skill to become whatever they choose.

The Boswells School can be found in Burnham Road, approx. two miles to the North East of Chelmsford town centre.
