New Hall School, Chelmsford

New Hall School in Chelmsford is an independent day and boarding school for pupils between the ages of 3 and 18. In 2009, it was confirmed as the fastest growing Catholic school in the UK and is now the country's largest with 1,100 students from over 35 different countries on its register.

Founded in 1642, the current structure of New Hall School in Chelmsford is one of a ‘Diamond Model'. Although this is unusual, it is extremely successful and sees co-education for pupils in Preparatory & Sixth Form, with single-sex education in between. This has the advantage of creating a co-educational environment but catering for the different ways in which boys and girls learn at various ages.

In the most recent Ofsted report in 2010, New Hall School in Chelmsford was classed at ‘Outstanding'. Amongst its facilities are national standard athletics track, swimming pool, two sports centres and extensive grounds offering a wide range of sporting and recreational opportunities.

On its website, there are a number of staff testimonials which offer an insight as to what it is like to work and teach at New Hall School School in Chelmsford. One states that there is a "real sense of family" at the school, whilst another comments that when driving up the mile long tree-lined drive every morning he has "to pinch myself that I am so fortunate enough to be part of such a forward thinking and progressive school."

New Hall School can be found off White Hart Lane, approx. two miles to the North of Chelmsford town centre.
