Essex Young Farmers Country Show 2012 will take place on Sunday May 20th at Boyton Hall, Roxwell just outside Chelmsford, Essex. After attracting an estimated 14,000 visitors last year in can rightly claim a place amongst the top agricultural shows in the South East of England.
With the support of local sponsors and the agricultural industry, Essex Young Farmers Country Show 2011 will once again be entirely organised by the members of EYF, who are all aged between just 16 and 26. The show takes a fortnight to be set-up and taken down with an incredible amount of unseen work going on behind the scenes to make sure it all runs smoothly.
Over the years, the Essex Young Farmers Country Show 2012 has evolved to the fantastic event it has now become. With so many aspects to the show, it is a great day for all the family which will not only entertain, but educate as well. There is so much to see and do that you will be spoilt for choice, with such areas as Food Hall, Craft Hall, Farmer's Market, Horticultural Marquee, Livestock, Ring Exhibitions & Displays, Game Fair, Children's Rides, Steam Area and much, much more. There are also several tradestands plus good refreshment and catering facilities.

If arriving by car, then use the Essex Young Farmers Country Show SatNav Postcode CM1 4LN. The event will be well signposted but when coming from Chelmsford, leave the town on the A1060 Rainsford Road towards Roxwell on the Roxwell Road. You will pass the BP garage and Old Chelmsfordians on your left. After approximately 3 miles, turn right into Boyton Hall Lane.

What's On?
Two Main Rings There are two main rings at this years show where there is always something going on throughout the whole day including demonstrations and exhibitions.
Farmers Market Your chance to sample and take home some delicious local produce. The Farmer's Market is a delightful place to spend some time ambling around the different stalls.
Horticultural Area Discover shrubs, flowers, plants, herbs, as well as different bits and pieces for the garden. There will also be lots of advice on offer alongside several demonstrations.
Exhibition Hall The 12 local Essex Young Farmer clubs go head to head in a bit of healthy competition in several challenges including cooking, drawing, painting, sewing and much more.
Exhibitions & Events Amongst several other events taking place throughout the day, there will also be Axe Men, Tree Felling, Terrier Racing, Vintage Tractors, Beer Festival, Steam Engine Parade, Bulldog Motorbikes, Sheep Dog Trials, Forestry, & Tug of War.
Horse Ring A fantastic area for all horse riders and enthusiasts with several performances and equestrian games on show.
Livestock Area Lots of different breeds of farm animals on show including pigs, cattle and sheep and hopefully this year, goats! One of many Essex Young Farmers Country Show highlights for the children.
Game Fair There is something for everyone in the game fair area. Many demonstrations will be taking place throughout the day including ferrets, a gundog scurry and taxidermy. Children can fuss over ferrets and hounds, whilst the grown-ups can try a bit of fly fishing and get advice on shooting and fire arms.
Craft Hall Packed full of creative stands demonstrating a wide spectrum of skills from home made jewellery to wood craft. A great place to pick up a great gift or something just for you!
Tradestands There will be a large number of tradestands at the show due to its strong agricultural theme.
Food Hall More than likely the Food Hall will be your first stop when you are feeling a bit peckish. Loads of tasty treats on offer including the ever-tempting chocolate fountain.
Catering A wide variety of catering options will be available to visitors on the day. There will also be a Tea Room, where visitors can sit down and relax for a while and a Bar area where you can sample some delightfully refreshing local beers and ales.
Essex Young Farmers Clubs If you are interested in joining the Essex Young Farmers Club, then there are 12 different branches throughout the county. These can be found in Ashdon & Saffron Walden, Braintree, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Colchester, Dunmow, Halstead, Maldon, Mersea, Ongar, Southminster, & Wix.
All the clubs offer a friendly welcome and meet mostly once a week with a number of activities and topics up for discussion. They are also involved in charity work and organise a number of fundraising events throughout the year.
