The Meadows is also home to the only cinema in Chelmsford, the Odeon. A Chelmsford Market has been held in Chelmsford for over 800 years after the town was granted permission by King John. Located under the multi-storey car park behind the High Chelmer Shopping Centre, and adjacent to a bus terminus, there are currently over 100 stalls, all of which are undercover.
There are general stalls on most days, except Sunday & Monday when Chelmsford Market is closed. On Thursday's it features antiques, collectables & second hand goods. Chelmsford Market opening times are 8.00am to 4.00pm, except Saturdays when it closes at 5.00pm.
