Chelmsford Salvation Army Band

Add News

Musical NotesThe Band of the Chelmsford Citadel corps of The Salvation Army was formed soon after the arrival of the Army in Chelmsford in circa 1886. The current membership is made up of approximately 35 men and women from all walks of life, all of whom freely give their time helping the band attract others to know the love of God in their lives.

Over the years, the Band have appeared at Alexandra Palace, Crystal Palace, the Royal Albert Hall, Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh and the Brentwood International Centre. They have also been involved in a number of recordings for radio and made two CDs in conjunction with the Chelmsford Songster Brigade from the corps.

Chelmsford Salvation Army Band is proud of its history but does not rest on it but rather uses it as a springboard for the future. It is always seeking to achieve high standards both in its music making as well as in its promulgation of the gospel and looks forward to new opportunities for witness where ever they are.
