Chelmsford Park & Ride

Add News

Chelmsford Park & Ride users will shortly have two sites from which to travel into the town centre, with the impending opening of the new facility at Chelmer Valley. Based on the north side of Chelmsford on the A130, the operation will compliment the towns other site in Sandon, which is on the southern outskirts of the Essex town.

With Chelmsford Borough Council keen to improve air quality in the town and reduce the number of vehicles, the expansion of the Chelmsford Park & Ride scheme has been welcomed by the majority of the local population. Two sectors which are particularly pleased are commuters, who now have a cheaper and easier way of getting to work in Chelmsford, and businesses who hope to see an increase in shoppers.

With the introduction of the new Chelmsford Park & Ride in Chelmer Valley, the residents of Chelmsford and the surrounding villages are becoming increasingly well served by a high quality public transport system. With the recent opening of the new Rail & Bus Interchange in the middle of the town, along with council subsidised bus services from the villages, the Chelmer Valley Park & Ride will undoubtedly improve this even further.
