Chelmsford Beer Festival 2011 will take place between Tuesday 12th - Saturday 16th July 2011 and will have on offer over 350 Real Ales from local and national brewers, more than 120 Real Ciders & Perries, plus a wide selection of Belgian Beers & local wines.
Since its inception in 2006, when the Chelmsford Beer Festival was held at Moulsham Mill, the event has got bigger and better each year. Now held in Admirals Park, the festival has live music and plenty of food each day, and on Saturday has a special Family Day with fun fair rides and amusements to keep the kids entertained.
With so many different beers and ales on offer, the Chelmford CAMRA (CAMpaign for Real Ale) run event gives visitors the chance to try hundreds of different beer, ales, cider, parries and wines from around the country and well as some from abroad. With CAMRA dedicated to preserving the art of producing real ale, the Chelmsford Beer Festival is a fantastic opportunity for breweries around the UK to showcase their beers.
Opening Times & Charges
The Chelmsford Beer Festival is open between 12 noon and 11.00pm each day.
Entrance is free to CAMRA members and non-members before 6.00pm
After 6.00pm, the entrance fee is Tuesday to Thursday £4, Friday £5, and Saturday £3.
There is a refundable glass deposit of £3. You then have the choice of claiming back your deposit when you leave the festival, retain the glass as a souvenir, or donating the money to charity.
Beer prices are generally in line with pub prices and range mostly from £2.80 - £3.20 per pint.

Location & How to Get There
By Road: There will be the commonly used yellow AA road signs to direct you to Admirals Park. However, there is very limited parking nearby so you should use one of the several car parks within Chelmsford which are within walking distance.
If arriving by car, use the Chelmsford Beer Festival Postcode CM1 2PL in your SatNav.
By Bus: Chelmsford bus station is located close to Admirals Park and is just a 10 minute walk away. There will be signs directing you to the Beer Festival.
By Train: Chelmsford Train Station is also a 10 minute walk away from Admirals Park, and once again, lookout for the signs. The are a good number of late night services to several destinations, so check with your local station to see the time of your last train if you think you may need it.

Things to bear in mind!
You are recommended to start with the weaker beers and then try the stronger ones as the day/ evening/ night progresses. CAMRA always supports responsible drinking, and if you are drunk or appear to be drunk, you will be asked to leave the site immediately.
It is suggested that you try as many different beers as you wish by drinking ½ pints. The staff will always assist you if you need help.
Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival takes place in February each year.
In 2011, there will be a lot more space in the marquees, so if it rains, there should be plenty of indoor space for everyone.
Chelmsford Beer Festival is totally run by the volunteers from the Chelmsford & Mid Essex branch of CAMRA.
There is full disabled access and children and dogs are welcome, but must remain under strict supervision at all times.

Jimmy Murphey(3:30pm) Acoustic singer-songwriter, with influences including traditional Irish folk music, early American blues & contemporary English indie classics

If you would like to help out at the Chelmsford Beer Festival or become a volunteer, then why not get in touch. With so much to do including handing out flyers to catering, and a need highly skilled professions such asr plumbers, electricians, carpenters and builders, any help is always greatly appreciated and very welcome.
All volunteers are looked after very well and are rewarded with beer, food, a t-shirt and a glass, as well as being part of a fun team and event.
