Chelmer Valley High School

Chelmer Valley High School is a secondary school in Chelmsford providing an education for students aged between 11 and 18. It has been classified as a ‘Specialist Engineering College' since 2004 and is only one of two in the Chelmsford area. In its last Ofsted Report in 2007, it was described as an ‘Outstanding School'.

As well as priding itself on developing to their maximum potential, its students' talents, skills, and abilities, Chelmer Valley High School offers a wide range of extra curricular activities. There is also a strong commitment to encourage pupils to enjoy learning in order to promote opportunities and help achieve personal excellence and social awareness.

In addition to specialising in Engineering, Chelmer Valley High School in Chelmsford also covers a number of subjects under the guidance of the national curriculum. Some of the various departments ate the school include Business Studies, Drama & Dance, Information Technology (IT), Media Studies, Modern Foreign Languages, Music, and Technology.

On its website, Headmaster, Mr D. Franklin states that Chelmer Valley High School "is a very caring and happy school which sets high standards". He goes on to say that the school provides a learning environment which is pleasant, that every student is treated as an individual, and whilst the whole school is proud of what they have achieved so far, they are committed to improving the quality of the education provided even further.

Chelmer Valley High School can be found a couple of miles outside Chelmsford town centre, in Broomfield. It is located in Court Road close to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford's main NHS medical centre.
