In the last Ofsted report in 2008, in which the school was classed as having ‘outstanding pastoral welfare', there were 315 pupils on the register.

Despite being a large school, Broomfield Primary School in Chelmsford is popular and always oversubscribed. Comments from the last Ofsted Report confirm that there is a strong sense of community within the school and parents are extremely supportive of it. One parent quoted in the report said 'I couldn't have chosen a happier school for my child.'

Under the guidance of the national curriculum, Broomfield Primary School in Chelmsford covers most subjects including, Art, History, Science, ICT, Geography and Religious Education. Most pupils attain the expected standards or above in English, Mathematics and Science.

On its website, Headteacher, Linda Todd, states that Broomfield Primary School in Chelmsford is a "very happy and successful school" and that the development of enquiring minds is encouraged. She goes on to say that the school aim is to create a "happy family atmosphere", in which children can develop, grow, and where everyone is treated with respect.

Broomfield Primary School in Chelmsford can be found in School Lane, just two miles North of Chelmsford town centre, close to Broomfield NHS Hospital.
